CPA - Property Rights

Property rights fall under the “one for all, and all for one” principle.

If the property rights of some people in the country are taken away, then everyone’s property rights are weakened.

Approximately 400,000 Communal Property Association landowners, covering +-2.5 million hectares of attractive land, have suffered a major violation of their property rights since 2024. A new law says none of them are allowed to sell, lease, mortgage, or otherwise encumber their land without the special “permission” of a “Registrar” from the most corrupt department in the country. Many CPA landowners say this is just another way for corrupt officials to extract bribes. These landowners must have their property rights protected to make South Africa grow.
